From fashion, and floristry to food, Dr Nighat Awan OBE is one of the country’s most dynamic entrepreneurs. With more than five decades of entrepreneurial experience, the multi-award-winning businesswoman and philanthropist has made it her life’s mission to give back.

Nighat, who launched and sold a floristry business to Interflora and co-founded restaurant chain Shere Khan, is a patron of Levelling Up: Women & Entrepreneurship.

She leads on several high-profile business committees and panels such as Asia Chair for the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, Trustee Kingfisher Learning Trust, Governor C.E. Primary School Altrincham, Ambassador Radiotherapy UK, including many other countless accolades and is also the Chair of Symphony Exclusive. Symphony is a continuation of our family’s strong background and experience of the textile industry and as founder and Director of Symphony , I would like to extend a very warm welcome. Committed to manufacturing & supplying of quality textile products for over three decades, I am immensely proud of the exceptional talent, creativity and experience of our team.

Being a pilot for over ten years and transitioning into textiles that runs in the family for over 40 years, it’s been a great learning curve and experience on every step. Our vision is to move forward into future with confident steps, well qualified staff, innovative capabilities and commitment to sustainability.

Our key assets being a vertical setup with state-of-the-art manufacturing, quality control at the core, R&D activities and global applications that enable optimum production and efficiency.

In spite of being in infancy, Symphony was able to progress and sustain during the pandemic due devoted efforts of team Symphony which is the hallmark of our strength.

Lastly, I thank all our colleagues, business support partners and customers who have been instrumental in shaping this orchestra we know as Symphony.

Symphony’s operation is a direct result of Mr. Qayyum’s profound knowledge of textiles from the early days of manufacturing and exports globally from Lyallpur, also known as Manchester of Pakistan. He believes in quality par excellence keeping costs, sustainability and reliability of business relationships in mind.

His long-held core values are aimed at creating the value of Symphony beyond numerical targets and development of products which are innovative and environment friendly.

Hamid believes in effectiveness of the team in what they do and efficiency of processes which is an indispensable ingredient to competitiveness. He promotes ‘Made in Britain’ concept through forward looking projects.

Liz joined Symphony when the company was in its infancy, leaving 35 years of experience in the hospitality industry starting as a young teenager progressing over the years in different capacities.

As Business Development Manager, customer service and managing customers expectations is always at the forefront of her work, giving confidence in the Symphony family. Liz oversees admin and the warehouse staff on top of busy schedule and is always willing to assist various departments.

Michelle is another strong pillar of the Symphony family. As Sales and Marketing Manager with over 25 years of experience in the industry, she brings with her a wealth of knowledge and passion in textiles. She is dedicated and willing to go an extra mile to make customers happy and satisfied.

Michelle has worked for major textile suppliers over the years before joining Symphony , here she heads up quality assurance and the technical department. Michelle understands hospitality, healthcare and retail industry requirements and can be of great help in attending to bespoke requirements.

Jessica is the youngest and most energetic member of the Symphony family responsible for Social Enterprise. Jess has gained a BA Honours in Children and Young people. Her role within Symphony is to promote, encourage and help make social change through social media, web and multimedia content.

Jess is committed to bringing about positive social change by creating opportunities for the young, supporting communities and tackling environmental issues whilst promoting sustainability. Jess assists with the Charity wing of Symphony and our pledge of donating 10% net profits for various causes.

Phil is a detail-oriented and enthusiastic project manager having over 20 years of experience in leading varied projects from cradle to gate. He is most noticeable for his contribution in the ‘Fifth Gear’, a British motoring television magazine series, aired on Channel 5 from 2002 to 2011. The scope of his projects has not been limited to motoring industry only, he has undertaken collaborations with clients on creative development, design and production work.

Phil is a master at recognizing risks, seeking solutions, managing diversity and identifying conflicts and subsequent resolution. He believes in a collaborative approach in all endeavors.
